No, that’s not me in the picture! This is a brilliant Space for Storytelling (SFS) end-of-year celebration hosted by Aaron Oliver and Emily Hanna.
I dreamed up SFS in 2023 as a response to high venue costs, soaring cost of living and savage cuts to arts funding. I imagined a place where storytellers learn, workshop and could build a community combining the highest professional standards with a warm, encouraging ethos.
Storytelling Workshops are free. They take place very month in The Bridge at Waterloo, a beautiful disability-friendly space in the centre of the city.
It is fantastic to see the art of storytelling grow and flourish across London as a result (more paid jobs, more new storytellers and new monthly performance nights!)
“SFS has quickly established itself as a vital part of London’s storytelling ecosystem, it’s been such a privilege to be a part of a project which has brought together so many storytellers, created space for all communities within that umbrella and most importantly provided free and accessible pathways into storytelling as a career.” (Niall Moorjani)
